The Splash by Jon Gorospe

“Peripatetic Studies” was born as a field notebook and photographic archive focused
on the urban space and the uses that it legitimizes and favours or, also, delimits and
closes. From this archive, I extract ideas that over time form long-term projects, but
this archive has indeed acquired its own character and entity over the years.

The dynamic of the creative process is the walk and its core is the search, recording
and organization of those patterns that the streets repeat in the manner of a tic,
a mania –sometimes– a phobia.

In their accumulation, the images reconstruct and illuminate the active unconscious
firmly.

an environment.
This series puts special attention to the involuntary gesture of painting and elevates
these signs to the creative act. Emphasizing its aesthetic qualities.
